7.5 out of 10 Nice restaurant in a rooftop in the city center. They had live music and a cosy environment. The night was a little bit chilly but they offered us blankets which was a nice details. They had few options for vegetarians but main part of the menu contains meet/fish. We ordered fried cheese and a tlayuda vegana. The fried cheese was quite good, tasty, crispy and with a delicious jam. The Tlayuda was good but could have been juicier. To sum up, I would recommend the place for a nice night date out, good quality for money. Only suggestion would be to keep improving the veggie options.
Food is amazing !!! Stumbled across this place randomly and best thing that could’ve happen to me and my wife, the food was great I recommend the Chef special Flores de Oaxaca you won’t regret it. When you go the staff is super attentive making your experience that much better if your having trouble ordering ask Sandra for her recommendations and trust her she is great !!! Enjoy Oaxaca and thank me later !!!!
My mind was blown. We came across this place our first night in town. We were led up onto the terrace and were greeting with a beautiful view of the church, and pretty lights strung above. The bartender greeted us as we arrived. Sandra handed us menus and gave us plenty of time to order. Our drinks were the Huaxyacac Sour and the Nahual. Both were divine! For food, we ordered the Sopa Azteca, the Mole Coloradito with pork, and Sandra suggested the Bolitas Istmeñas. The bolitas were one of the most delightful and tasty things I have had in such a long time. It was such a delight for the senses. I highly recommended you try. The mole coloradito also was fabulous, especially for it being my first time trying mole. I couldn’t stop going back for more bites. My husbands favorite was the Sopa Azteca because there were chicharons in it. Please stop in while visiting! You won’t regret it.
Excellent food, the waiter was the most kind and sweet person ever. We took pictures of the sign some nights before they opened and then she invited us to come over for opening day and told us all about the good food they offer. In summary, the food was really good, the music was perfect and the whole atmosphere in general was relaxing and adequate for the place. They also have a terrace with live music on weekends that we went to as well. The cocktails and the music were good too.
Tried the tamales de casa and the molletes, which were decent. My favourite cocktail out of the 3 was the Santa one and the live band playing that night was amazing
Extremely friendly staff matched with excellent dishes made dinner here a wonderful experience. As a vegetarian, I didn't feel like I was missing out - quite the opposite! The experience is absolutely worth the walk through the rough building.
My favourite restaurant in Oaxaca - I ate here three times during my week in the city :) both the mole coloradito and mole negro were incredible. The best I had in Oaxaca. The staff are lovely. They also have a really nice roof terrace with a view over the city. I loved every meal here.
Lovely cocktails, innovative takes on Mexican classics and rooftop terrace with heating and blankets for when there's cold weather. Live music that still allows for a nice dinner and conversation.
